Fabric Overview

Where the sheers fall, these silks stand. Raw dupion carries the prominent horizontal slub that comes from reeling two cocoons together, giving a crisp hand and a dry lustre. Silk organza is woven from tightly twisted yarns and finished to a transparent, papery crispness that holds a fold. Silk jacquards carry the motif in the weave itself, produced on jacquard looms so the pattern is structural rather than printed. All three are used where volume, sculpture or a built pattern is required.
