Overview

A designer's fabric problem is rarely availability — it is fit. The base has to hold the silhouette, take the embroidery, photograph the way the lookbook promised, and still arrive in time for the shoot. Supplying design-led labels therefore looks nothing like selling yardage. It starts with a conversation about the collection, moves through swatches chosen against that brief, and ends with a bulk lot that behaves exactly like the sample that was approved four months earlier.

We do that from Ahmedabad for labels across India. A Delhi couture studio developing bridal will get silks, velvets, tissues and embroidery-ready bases with a note on which will survive the frame. A Mumbai ready-to-wear label will get fluid viscose, modal and crepe with realistic shrinkage figures. A Bengaluru or Hyderabad brand building a sustainable line will get khadi, handloom cotton and natural-dye options with the honest limitations of each. Distance is handled by process — curated swatch sets by courier, video calls over the lightbox, photographic approvals at each processing stage, and one sourcing lead who knows the collection.

Characteristics

What design-led supply requires

Brief-first selection

We read the silhouette and the season before we open a shelf, so the swatch set answers the collection rather than the category.

Sample-to-bulk fidelity

The approved sample is recorded and the bulk lot is matched to it, not to a fresh interpretation of the reference.

Exclusivity

Colours, prints and developed constructions can be reserved to your label for a defined window.

Small development quantities

Capsules and first collections are supported at quantities that do not bankrupt a young studio.

Technical honesty

Shrinkage, colour-fastness, pilling and embellishment behaviour are told to you before the order, not discovered in production.

Calendar awareness

Deliveries are planned backwards from your shoot, show or launch date.

Custom Sourcing

Working with us remotely

You do not need to be in Ahmedabad to buy well from it. The remote process is the standard process.

  • Share the mood board, reference swatch or garment — WhatsApp is fine
  • Receive a curated swatch set by courier, usually within a few working days
  • Discuss hand, weight and drape over a video call with the cloth in both hands
  • Approve lab dips and strike-offs against photographs and physical dips
  • Order sample yardage before committing to bulk
  • Bulk dispatched to your unit anywhere in India, with tracking and documentation

Why VVPAS. ANANT

Why designers keep the relationship

One studio, many families

Silks, cottons, linens, velvets, organzas, khadi and handloom under a single supplier and a single conversation.

Development, not just stock

If the cloth in your head does not exist, developing it is the service we are best known for.

Founder-led judgement

Twenty years of trade experience decides which base will actually survive your embellishment plan.

Kept dates

We quote the date the mill can hold and tell you the day it moves — collections are planned, not gambled.

Questions

Frequently asked

Do you supply designers outside Gujarat?

Yes — most of our clients are outside Gujarat. We courier swatch sets and dispatch bulk across India, and we support export buyers with the documentation their freight forwarder needs.

Can I order small quantities for a first collection?

Yes. Stocked qualities move in small metreage, and we scale development quantities to where your label is now. Custom dyeing and printing carry a stated per-colour or per-design minimum.

How do I judge fabric without visiting the studio?

Through swatches. We send a curated physical set against your brief, then talk it through on a video call. Sample yardage before bulk is the second safeguard.

Can a fabric be exclusive to my label?

Developed constructions, colourways and prints can be reserved to you for an agreed window. Terms are set before development begins.

How long does bulk delivery take?

Stocked qualities typically dispatch within days. Dyed, printed or embroidered programmes depend on the process chain — we quote a specific window before you commit and flag any slippage immediately.
