Ikat is a resist-dye weave in which the pattern is tied and dyed into the yarn itself before it ever reaches the loom. The characteristic feathered edge to every motif is a direct consequence — it is where the dye migrated against the tie. VPAS ANANT works with three ikat clusters: Pochampally (single ikat cotton and silk), Sambalpuri (Odisha, curvilinear motifs) and, for signature programmes, Patan Patola (Gujarat, true double ikat). Each construction reads immediately as ikat but carries a distinct regional grammar.
