Fabric Overview

Dupion (or 'dupioni') is woven from two silkworm threads spun together, which produces the characteristic irregular slubs across the surface and gives it that crisp, structured hand. Unlike a fluid crepe silk, dupion holds a cut and reads as a formal, occasion-grade cloth. It is the default bridal-blouse fabric across most of India for that reason, and is also used for structured lehenga skirts, sherwani panels and structured jackets.
